Given the economic challenges we face here in SE Michigan, the demand for skilled, qualified board members is especially strong. As so many organizations and individuals struggle to get through these difficult times, giving of one's time and experience through board service can be one of the most meaningful things we do.

Additionally, from a career perspective, board service offers the opportunity to gain and showcase skills and leadership, while your personal network expands with new contacts. In the course of demonstrating depth of character and commitment to the community, new possibilities can be revealed.

"Boardsmanship Essentials," facilitated by the DESC, covers the roles & responsibilities of nonprofit board service. As part of the program, information will be presented about the approximately 70 area organizations that have approached us seeking our attendees as qualified candidates for their boards. Through this program, attendees can be introduced to contacts at any of those organizations initiating a process to become a candidate for their boards. Assistance in locating contacts and information for other organizations will also be offered, as well as tips for conducting a search for a board opportunity.

If you have any questions, please contact Steve Renaldi for additional information at (734) 737-9515 or srenaldi@cambia-mca.com.
